OPTICAL AND CONTACT TACHOMETER
This device is a portable digital tachometer which is used to measure the rotation speed. This compact tachometer has two methods of measurement: the first one is optical, thus without contact, the other one is mechanical by means of an adapter (3 sorts of adapters supplied).
The CLAS tachymeter works as follows:
- optical method: it concentrates a beam of light on a reflective strip attached to a rotary object. The beam is then reflected each time the strip passes, which is quickly translated into rotation speed. The distance between the device and the reflective strip can reach 600mm.
- mechanical method: it uses a contact probe, directly attached to the axis of rotation. A measuring wheel is placed on the adapter to measure either speed or length.
The tachometer can be used to measure the speed of engines, pumps, turbines, centrifuges...
Supplied with 2 SA2404 reflective strips
