Automotive Smoke Leak Detection Diagnostics

Automotive Smoke Leak Detectors are an invaluable piece of equipment for any busy workshop.

 

Used to speed up the process of diagnosing leaks in:

  • EVAP Systems
  • Intake / Induction Systems
  • Oil (Crankcase)
  • EGR Assembly
  • Vacuum Systems (Turbo, Intercooler etc)
  • Exhaust Systems
  • Air-Con
  • Cooling Systems (Radiator, Thermostats etc)
  • HVAC
  • Idle Motors & Solenoids
  • Vertually any hosed or gasketed components

They simply work by blowing low pressure smoke into a hollow via an opening such as a disconnected pipe or sensor etc. The smoke then passes through the related system and network of connections. Any break, crack or hole in the system the smoke will be seen determining the component that must be repaired or replaced. This allows technicians to speedily diagnose and repair any issue.
